Atac is a serious game made for Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis in 's Hertogenbosch.
A schoolproject with a real assignment from the hospital. The purpose for this game is to improve the communication between medical personnel and reduce mistakes at work.
Humans make mistakes, it is something inevitable even with the upswing of medical technology. The idea of our project team to reduce mistakes and improve teamwork was to make a serious game about co-operation and messaging. This game is played with 3 players with different roles. In order to succeed the players have to complement each other and communicate their task.
My role in this project was developing the game and creating real-time communication between the players. The game was built using HTML5/CSS and jQuery. I created the multiplayer with Node.js, express framework and socket.io. This was the first time for me working with Node.js but I managed to create the server for this game and I learned a lot about it.
